Description |
The General Electric astronomical time switch operated based on astronomical data to provide accurate timing for electric lighting. With this time switch, electric lighting would be automated; set to turn on at dusk and off at dawn. In the early days of electric power, electricity was produced only during evening hours, because electric lighting was not needed during the day and there were no other products to use electricity. This time switch is on a wooden mount. |
