Description |
The Edison Idelia Phonograph was considered a more luxury phonograph than its predecessors because of the oxidized bronze metal parts exposed at the top. This Edison Idelia Phonograph Model D1 was produced in the United States in 1908. It had the capability of playing 2 or 4 minute cylinders and had three spring barrels in the motor. The metal part sticking out below the Edison logo was to attach a rod that went up through a hole at the top of the wooden casing and supported a horn, because otherwise the heavy horn would make the phonograph top-heavy. |
