Description |
In the 1920s, the Edicraft division of Thomas Alva Edison Inc. began making "electric servants" (a popular term for kitchen appliances at the time). Sales heavily declined during the great depression, causing Edicraft to cease production in 1934. The siphonator is divided into the cover and the body. The body is divided into two segments. Two operation pieces are attached to the body. One is the filter; the other is the filter holder, which is a channel used for directing water to the filter. Water put into the left chamber would be heated and pumped up into the tube and dispersed over an enclosed basket containing the ground coffee. After brewing, there would be coffee in the right chamber, and hot water in the left chamber to be dispensed by the correlating spigots. |
