Description |
This is a small Edison Shaving Machine mounted on a wooden box frame with a wooden handle. It was made about 1912. During the early years of phonograph production, Edison sold accessories to a phonograph that would allow a person to make homemade recordings. He later produced shaving machines, like this one, which trimmed the surface of a blank wax cylinder, allowing the consumer to reuse it. |
