Description |
Edison Gold-Moulded cylinders were made from 1902 to 1912. They were standardized to play at 160 rpm and lasted roughly about 2-minutes. It was with these cylinders that artists began to be recognized, such as the singer Billy Murray, or the comedian Steve Porter, whom would record a whole vaudeville series of "Flanagan" cylinders, one of which is on this shelf. These artists recorded hundreds of cylinders for Edison and other companies. |
