This is a nickel-cadmium alkaline secondary battery manufactured by Exide Technologies. A secondary battery must be charged after it is constructed and can be recharged. Exide Technologies was established in 1888 as the Electric Storage Battery Company by William W. Gibbs. The name Exide was initially a brand name used to sell batteries. The first battery to bear this name was released in 1900. Exide is short for Excellent Oxide. |
