Description |
(1) Brass Samovar-"an urn with a spigot at its base used especially in Russia to boil water for strong tea" Merriam-Webster Word samovar in Russian means "self-boiler" Samovars are also used in countries that belonged to the former Soviet Union. (Countries that are allied with Russia or have cultural ties with Russia) How to use: 1. Fill the samovar with cold or cool water (take the samovar lid "kryshka" off) 2. Small internal draft chminey (uses either small amount of charcoal or wood pieces/pine cones) use match to light a fire-piece of paper-place inside the chimney. Place vent lid back on, has a vent to let smoke out. 3. Prepare the teapot (8 ounces of boiling water, use 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea) can also add cloves, orange peels, and cinnamon. 4. Brew the tea (Pour the boling water from samovar into the prepared teapot, let steep for 10 minutes) 5. Serve |
