Diameter: 52 mm (50th Anniversary Plaquette) Design Art Nouveau Engraver: Turin, Pierre (1891-1968) Belonged to Charles Edison Marks: front: P. Turin back: COMPAGNIE CONTINENTALE EDISON 1882-1932 Rectangular bronze plaquette with medium to low relief woman flying and carrying the sun, stretching diagonally from the top left corner. Entire right side is medium to low relief classical man with a fierce look on his face. On the back is a side portrait of Edison (relief) in bottom left and relief power lines and sky across the whole top. Lettering is in mid- to right bottom, in relief. Work is tarnished in crevices. |
